Lady Starlight Itinerary October 2002 to November 2005
As with most things in life, change is good. Our itinerary continues
to undergo change as we meet new and interesting people and
find out about new and exciting places to explore. It will
most likely take us the next three seasons to reach Australia.
Below is a detailed itinerary for the next few years. Note
it is subject to change without notice.
October 2002 to October 2003
Since we are now planning to spend next season in the remainder of French Polynesia,
we will be leaving our boat on the hard in Tahiti and return
to California until March 2003. The French government requires
that we leave the area after our six month visa expires. Having
spent most of last season in the Tuamotus Archipelago, we will
go there upon our return for a month or two while friends come
visit. During mid-summer will be exploring the rest of the
Society Islands including Tahiti, Moorea, Huahine, Raiatea,
Bora Bora, and Maupiti. In September or October we will be
off to the Northern Cook Islands and Penryn Reef and then to
American Samoa and the Vava'u Group of Tonga for cyclone season.
October 2003 to November 2004
Due to the numerous islands and many people we meet our itinerary is
to be used as an outline, not gospel. We decided against wintering
in the Line Islands after hearing reports from friends who spent
last season there. Instead we are in American Samoa to provision
and off to Vava'u, Tonga where we have a hurricane mooring leased for the
cyclone season. We will spend the cruising
season videoing the Humpback whales until we leave for New Zealand in November.
October 2004 to November 2005
Our tentative plan at this point will be to sail to New Zealand and buy a minivan
and tour the North and South islands until May when we will leave
and sail to Fiji. If you really want to know our GPS coordinates - write us!!
